A data center (sometimes spelled datacenter) is a centralized repository, either physical or virtual, for the storage, management, and dissemination of data and information organized around a particular body of knowledge or pertaining to a particular business.
Datacenter is the brain of any organization and the place where the most critical processes are run. It could be a building or portion of a building whose primary function is to house a computer room and its support areas.
The main functions of a data center are to centralize consolidate Information Technology (IT) resources, house network operations, facilitate e-business and to provide uninterrupted service to mission-critical data processing operations.
Mainly there are three different types of Data Center solutions:
1.Conventional Data Center
Conventional Data Centers are building/room based solution where each and every component has to be installed separately and manually.
2.Modular Data Center
Modular Data Centers come in one single unit where all the major components are resides. It is a pre-fabricated unit that can be delivered to a site to fill an immediate need of the clients. It is suitable for IT load of 10KVA to 40KVA.
3.Containerized Data Center
Containerized Data Center Infrastructure is a complete data center solution installed into a container, combining Racks (IT Container), Precision Cooling (Cooling Container), UPS System (Power Container) and Monitoring solutions (Network Operation Center Container).
The network diagram shown in above figure shows our proposed solution to the existing problem. The hierarchical design has edge layer, core layer, distribution layer, and access layer. Each layer is used for different purpose.
